Dave's Page
The numbered articles shown below were written by Dave Benore over several
years starting in June of 2003 and are courtesy of the
Villager newpaper. The numbers signify the order in
which a novice should read the files. This is not the order in which
the articles were published. Only one of the articles is pure humor.
The articles can, of course, be used as a reference in any order. The titles should reflect the content of the articles.
As these articles were written starting in 2003, and technology keeps progressing, some of the information may seem a little dated—but it is still true. The articles were updated in 2006. Later advancements in computer
hardware or software may not be mentioned in the earlier articles.
The files which are not
numbered were not published in a newspaper. Rather they were
developed as teaching aids used in teaching novices about the
computer world. As such they may not be self-explanatory so perhaps
may be used to best advantage as reference information, reminding a
person of what was taught by another.
I hope the reader will
find the information valuable. Good luck in the world of computers.
